Employee Spotlight: Janet Gordon

At CorVel, our core values are the driving force behind our success in the industry and improving outcomes for our partners. Each day, our team members across the organization exemplify our fundamental ACE-IT values of Accountability, Commitment, Excellence, Integrity, and Teamwork. Today, we proudly turn the spotlight to Janet Gordon, BSN, RN, CCM, QRP, whose contributions to CorVel for nearly 20 years have been invaluable.

Janet joined CorVel in October 2004 as a Field Case Manager, and her role has evolved significantly during her tenure. Utilizing her clinical expertise, she was the Telephonic Case Management Supervisor during the company’s transition to a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in 2009. Today, she holds the position of Case Management Manager, overseeing operations in North and South Carolina.

One of Janet’s proudest moments was when she played a pivotal role in developing the telephonic case management program at the Charlotte, North Carolina office. This initiative coincided with CorVel becoming a TPA and showcased her dedication to advancing our services and the impact of telephonic case management on enhancing patient care. Additionally, Janet takes pride in being part of the Case Management Mentor Program, highlighting her commitment to passing down knowledge and shaping the industry’s future.

In Janet’s own words, “You are treated like family; everyone helps each other without hesitation. You feel listened to and valued. You are not scared to ask questions; that is how we learn. We learn to pass down our knowledge to help shape future generations.” This commitment to a supportive and collaborative work culture is at the core of Janet’s experience at CorVel.

Janet Gordon’s journey with CorVel encapsulates steadfast growth and aligns with our commitment to fostering a passionate, team-based work environment. As she continues to impact case management operations and contribute to CorVel’s success, Janet remains an integral part of our thriving story.

This year, we've seen many people accept increased responsibility in the organization. Having team members embrace the challenge to learn, grow, and advance is essential to our corporate mission, and I look forward to seeing an expansion of available opportunities in the coming years.
