In the continued recognition of our diverse team and their value to our organization, this month we are recognizing Vasantha Prammagnanam and her 18th year CorVel anniversary. Vasantha joined the CorVel team in 2002 as a Software Engineer in our Portland, Oregon office. Today, she is Vice President of Information Systems, working closely with her team to leverage technology to meet and anticipate business needs.
As Vice President of Information Systems, Vasantha’s role involves strategic planning for current and future market opportunities. With the goal to improve process and automation to drive revenue and efficiency, Vasantha wears many hats at CorVel – she is an innovator, a teacher, a team player, and also a student when she is challenged to solve complex tasks. She shares, “A day in my life requires the ability to integrate technology, teams, and great leadership to nourish our culture. I enjoy every aspect of my role.”
Throughout her time at CorVel, Vasantha has achieved various accomplishments. However, her favorite project was her contributions to the development of CareMCEdgeSM, CorVel’s industry-leading claims management system. The first of its kind, CareMCEdgeSM is a dynamic platform that completely modernizes workers’ comp and liability claims processing. The Edge helps claims professionals take informed action and proactively manage claims, driving better outcomes and reducing risk. She explains, “CareMC Edge taught me the nuances in the insurance industry. While architecting, I felt a deep sense of responsibility to improve people’s lives.”
In recognition of her contributions to the insurance industry and her success in enhancing technology tools to improve the claims management process, Vasantha was recently named a winner of the Business Insurance’s 2020 Women to Watch award. The annual awards program recognizes women leaders doing notable work in risk management and commercial insurance.
