CorVel Anniversary: Michael Jamason

In the continued recognition of our diverse team and their value to our organization, this month we are recognizing Michael Jamason, Senior Vice President of Business Operations, and his 15th year CorVel anniversary.

Michael joined the CorVel team on June 5, 2005, as Bill Review Manager for the Central Florida Center of Excellence. In 2011, his role evolved and he joined the Business Operations team as Manager of Network Solutions. From there, he became the Director of Business Operations in 2015, leading into his promotion to Vice President of Business Operations in 2017. He says, “Starting at CorVel, my roles were specific to bill review and network solutions. Upon taking the Director role and subsequent promotions, I have the pleasure of managing the Business Operations and Business Process teams over all of CorVel’s service lines.” Michael’s current role is SVP, Business Operations, which he was promoted to in December 2019.

Having been a part of the CorVel team for 15 years now, Michael says what he likes most about the company is the team-based, family culture. He shares, “From the moment I joined CorVel, there has always been something different in the way CorVel manages. There was never a point that I felt like simply a number or just another one of the 3000+ other employees. CorVel presented as a TEAM and more importantly as a FAMILY.  Everyone has a voice and a face. Everyone’s input matters.”

Many of Michael’s achievements stand out at CorVel, however, one of his favorite projects has been the development of CorVel’s claims management platform, CareMC Edge. He explains, “One of my proudest moments was when we launched this platform with a vision of truly making a difference in the way the claims process is managed. Over the subsequent years, it has been a true pleasure collaborating with internal team members and external customers to deliver a platform that is proven to improve claims outcomes and truly presents a market differentiator for CorVel.”

Outside of his contributions at CorVel, Michael is an avid gardener. He enjoys hours every week working in his yard and tropical planted gardens.
