Georgia MCO/Rule 208

Georgia's Managed Care Organization (MCO)/Rule 208 mandates employee participation in rehabilitation, if prescribed, and provides the employee the right to select an Authorized Treating Physician from the certified network of providers. In a non-MCO situation, Board Rule 200.1 applies to case management services in which participation by the injured worker is voluntary, and written consent is required prior to contact with the injured worker or physician. Board Rule 201, relative to posting a panel of physicians, applies to all employers and includes MCO procedures.
