Long-Term Integration Delivers Results
The 17-year partnership between ACUITY and CorVel has continued to evolve to deliver year-over-year savings improvements for workers’ compensation claims. Over the years, technology has continued to be a focus, starting with an electronic claim feed and continuing with increased efficiencies through a paperless workflow. ACUITY was able to automate their front-end process, pushing 100% of their paper medical bills directly to CorVel. On the back end, a fully-integrated EDI into ACUITY’s claim system was implemented, providing a seamless process for their claims representatives.
Savings have continued to improve every year. Since 2010, ACUITY has integrated their auto medical bills into the CorVel process, adding significant savings to the already established workers’ compensation program. Additional process integration includes the implementation of 24/7 Nurse Triage (M.A.S.H.) and CorVel’s Pharmacy Benefits Manager, which have added an additional $1 million in annual savings.

CorVel’s pharmacy expertise combined with full visibility through the integrated bill review system allows them to provide additional solutions for managing medications and ensuring patient safety. This comprehensive program includes prospective pharmacy management, actionable alerts to adjusters, and required documentation to ensure prescriptions are medically necessary prior to providing payment.
