OSHA to Extend Electronic Submission Date

OSHA is not accepting electronic submissions of injury and illness logs at this time. Last week, an email was sent to stakeholders announcing OSHA’s intent to delay the July 1, 2017 initial deadline for the electronic submission of certain employers 2016 Form 300A.

Initially released last year, OSHA’s Recordkeeping Rule required certain employers to submit injury and illness information electronically. Those employers included establishments with 250 or more employees, as well as establishments with 20-250 employees in certain high-risk industries.

It has been reported that the secure website that had been intended to be used for submission of these OSHA records has not been made available. No extension date has been announced at this time.
